I’ve been busy!

I started this sampler in January of 2007 as part of a Block of the Month challenge with the Quilting Arts Forum. I fizzled out part way through and went in my own direction with it. It was meant to be all pieced blocks, but I felt like doing some applique (I LOVE applique!). It still needs one or two more borders… I’m thinking something pieced and bold, maybe flying geese or a zig zag. Any ideas?

And then there’s the Ninja Turtle quilt.

I put the binding on it last weekend, but this photo was taken before that. This is the second quilt I’ve done on my new Grand Quilter and frame. The hardest part about it was quilting it in sections, because only about 5.5 inches wide can be quilted across the length of the frame at any one time. Makes it hard to get a good pattern, but I’ll learn. The quilting was all freestyle, no pantos. It’s not a perfect or time-consuming quilt by any means, but it IS perfect for a 4 year old little boy. Jake will love it, and that’s what matters.
