I love quilts that offer lots of room for hand quilting.  I’m pondering this pattern, making it with as few seams as possible to facilitate easier quilting.   So I think I will hand piece it… Now to choose colors and draft the design to size… for a queen size bed.

Here’s one I found on Google Images… if you click on it it will enlarge it so you can see the fantastic quilting.

I wonder what colors I should choose to go in my bedroom?

  1. I am assuming that quilt is a reproduction of one that's been haunting me for about 30 years! I remember seeing the antique quilt eons ago in a book and in a Country Living Magazine spread. It's always been a favorite of mine because of its bold color and design.

  2. Margo, that's a beautiful quilt! Thanks for providing the address. Set-in seams don't bother me in the least. I want to avoid as many seams as possible for hand quilting. I don't think it will be difficult to draft a pattern that I like. Still trying to decide on the colors.
