I did quite a bit of work on “Feathered Cheddar” yesterday, all on the inside border. I cut out circles to size, slapped a piece of non-fusible interfacing on the front, sewed around the circle, cut a hole in the fusing to turn them right-side out, ironed and sliced in half.  This was easy!

Then I placed the scallops around the edge to make sure I liked it.  I did, and now have two sides appliquéd.

I toyed with the idea of putting three solid cheddar circles in each scallop, but I’m not sure if I like that idea, and hubby said he didn’t.   What do you think?

I spread the quilt on the floor to take a picture…

Stormie decided it needed inspected from the back.

Here’s as far as I got… this picture was taken before all of the appliqué work was done on the border.

DSC03977There’s a lot of blank cheddar area here…

Good for either:

1)  Wide feather quilting around the quilt

2)  or a blue appliquéd feather around the quilt.

I need some feedback from my quilt friends.

What do you think?
