Caron’s Word of the Year: 2014

I have freed up my schedule for 2014.  I have no set committee responsibilities or duties that occur on a weekly basis.  No extra meetings to attend outside work, no classes I have to take, and for the most part, it looks like my evenings are free.  Oh yes, things will creep in and out of my schedule; that is a part of life.  But I have had so much going on for the past several years that it was time to slow down and have some “ME TIME.”

Both my husband and I have elderly fathers who need watching and attending to.  They live within five minutes of us, so there isn’t travel required, just love and attention to detail (theirs).  One of these days in the not-so-distant future, we will be considering retirement, but that won’t be happening this year (at least I don’t think so!).

There are several things I would like to investigate from a research standpoint.  There are books I would like to read.  New methods of quilting and sewing to try.  New (or old) patterns to attempt.  Perhaps a new genre of literature to probe.  Places I would like to visit for the first time.  Tidbits of information to learn just because I want to learn.  So, given all this, my focus word for 2014 is EXPLORE.
